Lausanne Europe Conference

Lausanne Conference: Inspiration, Networking, and New Friendships

The conference was held in Paris with around 90 participants from across Europe. Several shared reports on how October 7, 2023, had impacted their countries, and a common theme was the rise in antisemitism and the growing sense of insecurity among Jewish communities.

The conference focused on how organizations and churches can inspire one another and work more closely together. Attention was also given to countries and regions in Europe where Jewish communities exist, but where currently no one is actively reaching out to them. This includes Cyprus, where many Israelis go on vacation or move more permanently due to the political situation and/or high cost of living in Israel. Poland is also seeing a growing Jewish population today.

During a complex time, the conference reminded us of the church’s calling to remain faithful to the gospel, to trust in God’s promises, and to be committed to sharing the good news of salvation for both Jews and non-Jews through Messiah Jesus.

European Evangelicals Gathered in Paris for LCJE 2025 Conference

Paris, 8-11 September 2025 – Evangelical leaders, pastors, and mission workers, both Jews and Gentiles, from across Europe and beyond gathered in Paris for the Lausanne Consultation on Jewish Evangelism (LCJE) Europe Conference. It was the largest regional European gathering in LCJE’s history. The conference provided a unique space for fellowship, prayer, and strategic reflection on bearing faithful witness to Jesus the Messiah in today’s Jewish contexts.

The program brought together plenary sessions that addressed pressing theological and missiological questions facing Jewish evangelism in Europe, these questions helped to equip participants with practical tools for outreach. Participants also heard reports from the field, with testimonies and updates from ministries spanning Europe and other parts of the world.

Particular attention was given to the challenges of rising antisemitism, both in Europe and globally, and to the tensions created by the ongoing war in Israel and Gaza. Speakers and participants grappled with how the church can speak truthfully and compassionately into these realities without being co-opted by partisan political narratives. There were times of prayer and reflection as the participants discussed how to respond to those who see support for the Jewish people and Israel as either offensive or heretical. In the last two years solidarity with Israel has come under increasing fire both in and outside the church.

The content of the 2025 program underscored the continuing relevance of the words of 1 Chron 12:32 speaking of the sons of Issachar, “who understood the times and knew what Israel should do” inviting participants to reflect on the opportunities and challenges of gospel witness among Jewish people at this point of time. As Europe continues to wrestle with complex cultural, religious, and political questions, the LCJE conference reminded the church of her call to remain faithful to the gospel, confident in God’s promises, and committed to the good news of salvation for Jews and Gentiles alike through Messiah Jesus.
